Sri Gumum          The Village
Peter A. van der Helm

  kampung
Kampung Gumum, at the shores of Tasik Chini (see Satellite Photo), has one road which was tarred mid 1990s,
a nearby cemetary with 'final houses',
and many views on the lake.
The houses are surrounded by bettlenut trees (penang) and other fruit trees.

For the people, the village is not only a place to work and eat, but also a place to relax, to check out the merchandise of traveling salesmen, and for other events.
For the children, it is above all a perfect place for playing and for games like
batu seremban (with small stones) and upeh (with a leaf of a bettlenut tree).
